This CPD resource reviews two chapters from the "Making Every Lesson Count’ book- Explanation and Modelling

The main aim is to demonstrate how through expert explanation and effective modelling leads to great performance. It also looks at dispelling misconceptions and explores two approaches to modelling.

• The CPD can be delivered in 45-60 minutes.
• The CPD has a starter which pinpoints the importance of explanation and modelling.
• The CPD was used for teachers in an international school setting, taking into consideration, bilingual and EAL learners, discussing BICS and CALPS.
