This is a self-checking circuit activity on finding the first derivative of a function at a given point (the chain rule is required). The functions included are polynomial, rational, radical, exponential, logarithmic, trigonometric and inverse trigonometric.

There is provided space for students to show work on the pages.

Activity directions: Students begin with the problem #1, solve the problem, find the answer somewhere else on the pages ( which are four) and write “2” in the blank. Then student solve that problem (#2), search for the answer again and when find it write “3” in the next blank. Students continue in this manner until they return to the problem #1. They should solve all the 15 problems before returning to the start point.

Answer keys are included.
