We prefer them because they stay the same when printed, sometimes Word or similar programs mess with the scale and size which then sometimes makes the document unusable or at least look a bit dodgy. These were intended to be printed as they are and not edited. We would recommend you display the options for the diamond 9 on the screen, or print if necessary - that way these become a great resource to have in your toolbox so to speak. You can actually convert them to Word if you need to edit them, your ICT department will probably know how.
