Direct Speech Task Cards

This set of Direct Speech task cards aims to provide an opportunity for students to improve their understanding and ability to apply the direct speech rules.

I have used images of iPhones with text messages which students need to convert into Direct Speech. The content of the text messages includes silly jokes. Together, the text messages and jokes, should make learning meaningful (text messages are part of everyday life) and fun.

This set contains 24 different task cards. These cards are offered with and without QR codes. When scanned, the QR code reveals the memorandum, making the task cards self-correcting. For classes that do not have access to the needed technology, a set without QR codes and a memorandum has also been provided.

In order to scan a QR code, students would need to download a free QR code scanner app. They then hover the scanner over the code and the answer is then revealed on their screen. Should you have any queries or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact me at margauxlangenhoven@gmail.com.
