This presentation contains 3 passages for students to use as practice for ‘text analysis’ style exam questions–
1 passage from ‘Doctor Zhivago’ by Boris Pasternak with comprehension and analysis tasks and model responses.
1 passage from ‘Doctor Zhivago’ with comprehension and analysis tasks for students to explore independently.
1 passage from ‘Doctor Zhivago’ for students to analyse independently.
The 3 passages are provided in full. Detailed explanation and model responses are provided to assist students with how to go about analysing an unseen text.
This could be used if you are studying Zhivago but also be used simply as example exploration of prose texts. It might even encourage students to read the book in their own time.
If all 3 texts were analysed, this scheme would take perhaps 7 or 8 lessons.
