This dynamically detailed and illustrated power point lesson is connected to the Edexcel AS and A Level English Language and Literature anthology (Voices in Speech and Writing). This specific lesson explores the text, ‘When I lived in Peru’ by Andrew Viner.

This colossal twenty-one slide presentation explores the genre, the audience and the purpose of this text. It introduces the students to the key critical terms of: Understatement, Diegetic Sounds, Non-Diegetic Sounds, Personal Power, Command Sentence, Exclamatory Sentences, Epistemic modality and Absurdity. This presentation also includes an academic writing task, an extension task and a plenary. This is a complete resource. Enjoy!

Ha resources are considered and consistently good, require v. Little tweaking for your particular class as the framework is sound. Especially god on power dynamics, just check the semantics for your exam spec l. Read thoroughly before lessons, good stuff all round. Cohent, German and sound.
