A fun, colourful educational comic created by pupils for pupils, looking at how MSPs hold the government to account through First Minister’s Questions.

The comic takes the perspective of a backbench MSP, and how they consider what to ask the FM, what they do with that information, and how they use their question and the answer to hold the FM and the government to account.

The pupils interviewed a number of MSPs in making this comic, and used their answers to tell the story.

The Scottish Parliament Education Service’s ‘Scrutiny and Accountability: FMQs’ (also available on TES resources) provides more detail and examples of MSPs questioning the First Minister.

The comic is available in English and Gaelic.

For teachers, there is a panel by panel powerpoint version of the comic.

There is also a large print PDF version with alt-text suitable for pupils with visual impairments or who use screen readers.
