This Teach, Practise, Extend PowerPoint resource focuses on equivalent fractions and is linked to the Year 4 National Curriculum. In total there are eight slides:
Slides 1/2/4/6 (teach) - Detailed visual teaching points showing what an equivalent fraction is and how to find them. On slide 4 and 6 it shows how to multiply and divide the numerator and denominator to find an equivalent fraction.
Slide 3/5/7 (practise) - Children need to find the equivalent fractions firstly using diagrams and then without. On slide 5 they need to multiply the numerator and denominator and then on slide 7 they need to divide both
Slide 8 (extend) - Children need to apply their skills by finding the missing numerators and denominators in fraction chains
The resource is colourfully designed and can clearly be seen from a distance making it ideal to display on the Interactive Whiteboard and providing you with a straightforward and highly effective teaching resource. Great for a lesson starter, revision or early morning activity. It is aimed at the Year 4 maths objective but can be used at any time during KS2.
The slides can be edited to suit the needs of your class but this resource, including the images must not be distributed to others without our permission.
