FIRST PAST THE POST & PROPORTIONAL REPRESENTATION

Here a couple of resources I have used with ESOL learners who were preparing for an examination that included the topic of elections.. One is a traditional article taken from the BBC website. I've added a copy of the vocabulary to the end of the article which can be used for cutting up and matching. The second is set of ballot papers which you can use to explain different types of voting. This is done by choosing which supermarket we should spend money. You will need to understand the system of PR yourself before you use it.
