In the wake of the 2011 Queensland Floods, Jackie French and Bruce Whatley’s picture book provided a timely and powerful exploration of the experience of floods in Australia and the human spirit which is on show at such times. They have crafted a narrative that is uplifting, cathartic, and at the same time invaluable for exploration in the classroom.
