This is the first lesson in a short Key Stage 3 Unit of work exploring romantic poetry from a selection of authors. Designed to prepare students in Year 8 and 9 for the demands of the new GCSE specification, the unit guides students through the conventions of genre and how the write analytically about unseen texts.
In this opening lesson students explore the conventions of romantic writing before judging how these are developed and subverted by Auden in “Funeral Blues”.
If you like this, the full unit is available from my shop with the full 6 lessons costing £3. Thank you for your interest in my resources.
