A two-page French worksheet that takes a retrospective look at the events of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
The ‘main event’ is a reading comprehension / gap-fill quiz with a focus on the passé composé / perfect tense (mixed avoir/être verbs). Students can relive those magic moments as they select the correct participle! The second page of the worksheet consists of two short reading passages on France’s history of hosting the games, with comprehension questions.
The language level is around A2 on the CEFR scale (ideal for Year 8/9), with plenty of cognates, designed to encourage gist-reading of texts.
Answers to all the vocabulary activities are supplied at the end of the worksheet.
