This is a scheme of learning for a full year including lesson worksheets and printable resources. The scheme is suitable for GCSE or year 9 foundation students and focusses on skill building and knowledge generation. Students begin by understanding textiles formal elements such as creating texture, then move on to explore the work of artists and designers using a thematic approach to explore their work in relation to mould, decay and natural resources.
Students will:
- produce textiles samples exploring texture and line
- Research artists
- Produce dye samples using natural and chemical dyes
- produce a drawing sheet of related materials
- culminate their learning in a finished final product exploring Japanese boro techniques
- Options to explore the current wool 4 school project
