Resources focusing on promoting a love of reading at Key Stage 3. Pupils read texts from different genres, gaining rewards and completing tasks as they go. Aim: for pupils to collect as many travel miles as possible.

This can be used as part of reading homework. The scheme has been designed in line with my school's stock in the library.

This pack includes the following:

1. The genre map - complete with instructions (pupils read texts from different genres, visiting different 'genre lands' - adventure, fantasy, humour, crime and autobiography/biography/non-fiction - throughout their expedition. Pupils get the circles signed at home to show that their reading homework has been complete. Pupils can complete optional pink 'stop tasks' in each genre world).

2. A certificate to reward pupils throughout the year.

3. Resources for display - could be displayed in the library to promote the scheme.

4, Resources for recommended reading for each genre - in line with library stock (a PDF version and an editable PUB version).

5. A book review template for one of the optional stop tasks.
