Glaciers Introduction

This is an A-level lesson on glaciers. It meets the new Edexcel and Aqa specifications. This is the first lesson of the unit. Key facts about the lesson are:

1. The content covered by the lesson are; Definition of a glacier & glaciation, description of the different types of glaciers, distribution of glaciers today, distribution of glaciers in the last ice age, timeline of glacial and interglacial periods throughout history and glaciers (cryosphere) importance to other earth systems.

2. Learning resources used in the lesson are; map task, peer work, graph analysis, creating a diagram and past paper questions.

3. What do you get in the package: The lesson is planned in detail and all of the resources for teaching the lesson are included in the ppt; starter, learning activities with resources, clear outline of learning tasks and a plenary.
