Red level is straightforward - recognise gradient from equations already in the form y=mx+c. Amber level pupils must rearrange the equation to find the gradient. Greehn level they must find the gradient from 2 co-ordinates.

A nice activity based on game of thrones where students need to calculate their character's statistics before (or while) playing the game, based on gradient. The activity is nicely differentiated and students could come up with their own 'top trump' (if, for some reason, they have been allowed to watch the programme!)
