This gymnastics festival competition pack has been designed to build and develop children’s movement foundation through activities which focus on fundamental movement skills. Using many of the Head Over Heels Resources including the card based game Shuffle Up Gymnastics Conditioning Game. The pack is a teacher led competition format which can be used in a lesson or for extra-curricular activity. Children will work in pairs and score for each other using the score-sheets provided.
Therefore the competition can be run by a single person. The activities concentrate on the development of balance, flexibility,
core control and strength, as well as helping children develop their wider skills, values and abilities in the creative, cognitive,
social and personal domains.
