Dear Reader,

This lesson is part of a 10 lessons set; it teaches the conflict between the successor of Edward the Confessor (Harold Godwinson ) and Harold Hardrada, a Viking king. It aims to have students matching general knowledge and original sources while developing their writing ability. All lessons have a same-model structure to get the students taught in a coherent manner, and always understand where they are at in their learning:

To be able to use Primary Sources to explain the events of the Battle of Stamford Bridge in 1066.
To explain which source is the most useful for explaining the event.
To describe what happened at the Battle of Hastings in

Three tasks based on levels of difficulties. The third task is always writing matching the GCSE writing framework. The two first tasks are group or class-assessed, the third is individual and gives you the chance to go around the class and support writing on one on one.

Homework, reading resources and task templates are included.
This work is already set as slideshow.
