A child is convinced that monsters that steal people’s hearts have invaded the city. She tries to protect her mother. The parent tries in vain to convince the child that they are made up, an internet scam. There is a rise of heart attacks in the city because of a heat wave. The play ends with the child convinced her mother is surrounded by the monsters and the parent clutching her chest.
It can be a starting point for discussing fake news and how we can’t trust everything we see on the internet.
It is a short play with only two characters and minimal set. It is aimed at primary aged students.
