A resource that can help students to investigate an artist to use their retrieval and summarising skills as well as describing and explaning their own opinion and justifying their answers. It has information about Matisse on one side (which students use to answer the Context questions), and on the other, questions about the Matisse piece Goldfish, 1912 used from the Tate gallery resource Ways of looking under the headings of; Context, Subject, Object and Personal.
Personal is the student’s opinion about the work, Subject is the meaning of the work and Object is describing the work using the formal elements. Students then can use their analysis to inspire them in their future work and respond to the artist.
