This resource is the first lesson (out of 3) part of a unit called: “Herbs, Spices, and Seasonings”. It introduces students to the essential concepts of how herbs, spices, and seasonings are used in cooking to enhance flavour. Through three theory-based lessons, students will learn to identify common herbs and spices, understand their different uses in various cuisines, and explore the importance of seasoning in recipes. The lessons focus on sorting and matching activities to help students recognise and categorise these ingredients, building a foundational understanding of their role in making food taste good.
