This unit of work is used to teach history of nursing to year 1 and 2 children.

Throughout this unit children will study the key events of the lives of the famous nurses. Reading will be used as a focus, where children will read the text thoroughly to help them understand the topic.
Lesson Structure

- Partner Talk
- Solo Task
The reading task begins with teacher modelling followed by paired reading at least twice per session.

Lesson 5 - Complete essay plan discussing similarities and differences of the nurses.
Lesson 6 - Essay writing
