• This teaching resource explains the work of Professor Peter Gammon, an electronics engineer at the University of Warwick. He is developing silicon carbide technology to improve the efficiency of electric vehicles, satellites and the National Grid.

• This resource also contains an interview with Peter. If your students have questions for Peter, they can send them to him online. All they need to do is to go to the article online (see the Futurum link below), scroll down to the end and type in the question(s). Peter will reply!

• The activity sheet provides ‘talking points’ (based on Bloom’s Taxonomy) to prompt students to reflect on Peter’s research and challenges them to discover how the electrification of fossil fuel systems will contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
