This very thorough documentary really drills down into the early history of Cape Colony, South Africa, and Apartheid. Covering: expansion into the interior, Voortrekkers, first and second Boer Wars; diamonds and gold discovered; cheap Native workers exploited; racial classifications; resistance, the ANC, 1948 election; reserves, racial laws, extremely poor living conditions for non-whites; non-violence, the Youth Movement, South Africa as an ally against Communism.
20 questions for the c. 19-minute film. (My link omits commercial message at the beginning). Differentiated! Both versions look very similar, but “B” version has subtle clues. Good subtitles: scripted, not auto-generated. Questions right up to the end, no slack time! Creates a great intro / revision / summary resource. Answer sheet. Very easy to mark. .doc & .pdf for all files.
