This is a powerpoint I used as part of the RE unit 'Writings,' which also ties in well with our Tudor topic. It explains the underground movement of Bible translation by people like Luther and Tyndale, Henry VIII's separation from Rome for his own personal reasons, and how eventually the Bible was available to ordinary people in English, rather than Latin. Please note that for best effect, I would read the Latin text before I show it on the screen, as this enables the children to feel what it is like to have something read to you that you do not understand.
