Infrared radiation

I have used this PowerPoint whrn teaching about heat transfer by radiation. The first couple of slides are good to get students thinking. I discuss uses of IR and also show a video of an IR camera. If you have an interactive white board it's good to get students to highlight the parts of the picture coldest (blue) to hottest (red). Finally, I give students a vacuum flask to explain how it works which ties in conduction and convection.
