Introducing Estimating on Number Lines - Y2

This resource aims to introduce the steps needed to estimate on a number line for Y2 children.

It will allow children to understand:

1. that 5 is half of 10, and how to use this fact to work out midpoints across other tens.
2. where numbers can be placed in relation to the midpoint (to the left or right of 5).
3. how to estimate where numbers lie- counting in ones.
4. how to estimate where tens will be placed.
5. how to estimate midpoints between tens.
