This lesson introduces Islam to pupils with an engaging starter that gets them empathising with the differences between Sunni and Shia Muslims. Pupils are exposed to modern understandings of the divide and how it originated. Their opinion on the matter is requested in a written format upon understanding the differences and seeing the conflict it still causes today.
