Keyword Cards - Religious Studies (RS) GCSE

A really useful revision and teaching tool!

These keyword cards are designed to support Religious Studies (RS) GCSE. They are primarily made for AQA with Islam, but can easily be adapted for other exam boards.

This pack includes:

• Keyword cards, with 7 different designs
• A ‘how to complete’ information page to show students
• An example card, focused on ‘baptism’
• Keyword lists for Christianity, Islam, Relationships, Religion and Life, Crime and Punishment, and Peace and Conflict

The key word maps encourage students to learn and understand key terms, including space for a description, religious views and scripture. This is a great independent learning tool, and also a great revision tool. The design of the card especially helps with answering 4 and 5 mark questions.

The key word lists help to guide students in key terms, and can also be used as a revision tool or for display.

How I use these in my teaching:

• The keyword lists are displayed in my classroom.
• I often use these as a homework or extension task once we have completed a lesson in class, e.g. if we have just done a lesson on worship, I may set 4 cards as homework - focusing on the words: worship, liturgical, non-liturgical and private.
• Students use these as a revision tool to remember key words and help with 4 and 5 mark questions.
• When students feel overwhelmed by content, these really help to break it down and make it more manageable!
