Second lesson in an Autobiography SOW focusing pupils on autobiography conventions. Curriculum Essential skill developed: identifying key features and grammar skills - using me, myself or I.
Throughout this lesson, pupils explore the difference between biographies and autobiographies, understand their conventions, identify these conventions in a autobiographical extract and then develop using them in their own writing. Peer assessment plenary also embedded.
Can be taught as a one-off lesson or as part of a full SOW. I have used this lesson many times myself, pupils were really engaged and enjoyed the activities.
