KS3 Classroom activity. Students take it in turn to pick a square on the grid, then they each roll 2 dice, one to give a value of a and the other the value of b, they then work out the value of the expression for thier values, whoever has the highest puts his/her colour counter on he square. However has the most counters on the board at the end wins.

An excellent resource on the topic of substitution. This game is well thought out and gets the pupils working in pairs playing a game and most importantly, practicing substituting values into expressions. There are two game sheets, both differentiated for different ability classes. Thanks for sharing this, I can't wait to use it.
