This lab station activity will give students hands-on practice reading lab equipment. Students will visit six different stations: burettes, graduated cylinders, beakers, thermometers, digital balance, and rulers.
They will use station equipment cards to complete notes and using an observant approach students will learn to accurately measure the volume of liquids, the mass of solids, the length of objects, or the temperature of a substance. Results will be recorded in a data table to the correct number of significant figures.
This active learning approach will help students apply their knowledge and understanding of significant figures and precision in measurements.
