This resource -‘Les francophones’, is a set of two texts that come with their respective text based exercises and answer keys. They allow for independent work either in the classroom or at home.
This resource has two versions:
Version 1(partly in the target language): Texts in French and Questions in both English and French.
Version 2 (entirely in the target language): Texts and Questions in French.
This may be used as a supplementary resource to reinforce existing knowledge. The content can be found in most curricula, including the GCSEs as well as the IBDP ab initio, but in a manner that is easily understood by students learning French as a foreign language.
At the end of each text, a set of reading comprehension exercises have been provided to ensure that the student has understood what he/she has read. These exercises include:
• Straight forward Q/R
• True or false
• Matching the two halves of a phrase
• Correcting the error in the given phrase
• Finding meaning from context
• Finding the synonym of a given word
• Finding the opposite of a given word
