An example letter from the point of view of Ted from the children’s novel The Boy Who Grew Dragons by Andy Shepherd.
This exemplar informal letter is perfect to use as a WAGOLL when studying Chapter 19-21 of the text. The letter is written from Ted to a friend about seeing Tomas’s dragon Flicker for the first time.
The model informal letter comes with a feature identification worksheet for children to fill in, plus answer sheet. The worksheets can be easily adjusted to match the ability of your class and provide differentiation.
After identifying the features in the model text, pupils can write their own informal letter based on the example text.
