Looking at life events, both expected and unexpected and the impact it can have on human development through the life stages, physically, intellectually, emotionally and socially.
This gives the student some key points to consider. Discuss how each life event can have a postive or negative effect on development. E.g. a child starting school positive can help with PIES development - negative starting school can be a wrench for the child from his/her parents or siblings, can be bullied, may find settling in at school difficult.
Suitable for BTEC , CACHE, OCR courses.
