The second half can be used for KS4 or a skilled KS3 group, perhaps in a following lesson, for it enhances problem-solving skills whilst providing essential context for the subject through the use of maps. These latter examples would make great teacher-led examples or small group activities for those that are new to the subject, or independent tasks for the more able students.
