Oh no! The third part of the witches spell got burnt in the fire. In order for Macbeth to find out what might happen in the future you must write the third part of the spell and perform it as a class ..

This outstanding lesson teaches the use of rhyming couplets through using Shakespeare's Macbeth. Children are asked to write the next part of the spell which was burnt in the witches fire on the heath. Using drama and performance children are engaged in a story, asked to read and explore a text, learn to write poetry using rhythm and rhyming couplets and explore the use of imperative verbs and other word classes they use in order to meet another SPaG objective.

Directly links to new national curriculum assessment objectives for year 5/6 in Writing, Reading, SPaG/ Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling and Speaking and Listening. Making it easy for you to tick off multiple assessments met in just one lesson.
