This lesson is based on the article “The Rise and Fall of Zuck Talk” from the NY Times website. This has been designed to follow the teaching of Language and Gender Theories such as The Deficit Theory (Lakoff) and the Dominance Theory (Zimmerman and West).
We analyse Mark Zuckerberg’s use of language that traditionally fitted into Lakoff’s trends of female speech. This opens up discussions on Language and Gender and power.
