This resource contains a 40+ page PowerPoint with animations on each stage of a Time of Flight (TOF) Mass Spectrometer, including vapourisation, ionisation, ion drift, electric field and ion detection. It explains how to interpret a Mass Spectrum of isotopes and moleules. Including: How to predict the mass spectrum of diatomic molecules with 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3 ratios, with explanations examples and questions. There are questions to check understanding and a sheet of calculations for students to try with explanations of how the answers are calculated.
It contains 4 exam style questions based on AQA A Level questions with answers on the PowerPoint.
Slides have a Learning Objectives linked to the AQA Syllabus so that everything is covered.

This set of resources includes a very thorough explanation of mass spectrometry, as well as questions sheets and detailed answers. Highly recommended
Excellent quality resource - would love to see one including the challenging distance/ speed calculations for TOF spec
