This set of resources contains a structured booklet that has been written to follow the specification for the AQA GCSE Chemistry and Combined Science exams on the Quantitative Chemistry sections. It can be used in conjunction with the detailed mind map that covers the same material.
The mind map in particular could be incorporated into powerpoint slides for teaching and it is a superb way to link the teaching of individual lessons to the bigger picture of the whole unit of work. I tend to give students an A5 copy of the mind map so that they can follow and ‘tick off’ where we are in the unit each lesson.
The booklets and mind map could be used together as a way for students to structure their notes as part of teaching a series of lessons on this topic. I have created two different booklets – one covers the specification content for the GCSE Combined Science course (‘Double Science’) and the other contains the content for the GCSE Chemistry course (‘Triple Science). The booklets have been created as A4 powerpoint slides that will print out as an A5 booklet to save on printing costs if desired.
The resources could also be used as a revision resource at the end of learning about the topic as a way to consolidate information prior to a test.
They have been used most successfully as a way for students to revisit material as a way of ‘spaced revision’. A series of these booklets has been developed with a similar format so that students will have a concise set of revision notes to refer back to when they come to take their final exams in Year 11.

It is a great overview - however I feel there needs to be a powerpoint attached to it to make it more useful to teachers/pupils.
