Networking Lesson 1 Introduction, network topologies

• This will help pupils relate networking using the London Underground
• Pupils will understand that when sending data, you need to find the quickest route to your destination. This sets the pupil up for packet switching.
• Pupils will be able to identify the advantages and disadvantages of a LAN/WAN
• Pupils will be able to identify the different nodes that make up a network
• Pupils will start gaining an understanding of the different acronyms relating to networking.
• Pupils will start to gain an understanding of the different types of network topologies and how they function.
