My students have been thoroughly engaged by these units. I taught this series of units at the beginning of the year and now the revision guides are proving excellent revision resources for pupils in the run up to exams and they love that they can access them on their smartphones. <br /> <br /> These units have developed my pupils’ skills needed for the New English Language exams in creative ways. The range of text types to model skills before formally assessing pupil’s ability with each skill/exam question using mock exam papers has definitely helped engage my pupils by breaking down the skills and AO’s into manageable portions. The fact that modern agendas that incorporate SMSC adds to their relevance as a modern teaching resource to engage young people.<br /> <br />

Great resource. I love the use of film clips. HOWEVER, I have had to do a lot of editing of apostrophes and there is much confusion of effect/affect, which is rather disappointing for an English resource that I have paid for.

We have purchased a number of items from this seller and they do have some lovely ideas and tasks in- have taught some great lessons using them. The ppts are also visually appealing. <br /> However there are spelling mistakes and misplaced apostrophes all over them which is a real shame. Sadly many of the slides are not editable and so I cannot change them and will not project inaccuracies to students- not intentionally anyway! :)

We have just finished the block of reading units and the revision guides will be excellent revision resources for pupils to use over the summer break to refresh and refine each skill. It is great that they can be accessed on smart phones, this leaves no room for excuses. I was prompted to write this review having seen the previous review for this resource on my newsfeed. I completely disagree with this reviewer’s comments and was surprised to see this. <br /> <br /> These units are completely relevant and develop the skills needed for the New English Language exams in new, fresh and creative ways which avoid traditional (boring) exam paper drilling methods. Each skill is introduced, modelled and practiced in creative and interesting ways using a range of text types before formally assessing pupil’s ability with each skill/exam question using mock exam papers. The staggered completion of these papers following each week’s unit (most of these units took us two weeks to complete given the large amount of activities.) really helps to break down the skills and AO’s into digestible chunks! The fact that this uses modern agendas such as equality and immigration further adds to its relevance as a modern teaching resource to engage young people.<br /> <br /> I can’t praise this resource enough and in light of the new specification, it is reassuring to see new and creative materials that move away from the ordinary and traditional! <br /> <br /> Thank you CreatEd!<br />
