A resource created using the support from history lead training. This training lasted all day and we were supported in writing these new plans by a historian who was also a teacher. Helped with the new ofsted format and if given ‘deep dive’ in history, could justify ‘why we do history like this’.
The resource shows 3 history topics for each year group, with 6 lessons in each topic. It also gives the historical key concepts for KS1 and KS2.
The topics are made as an over-arching question and then are broken down into smaller questions for the lessons. The last lesson is a form of assessment to see if the children can now answer the over-arching question. Good evidence to show some understanding, secure understanding or strong understanding of each topic.
At the top of the document it outlines the intent, implementation and impact. It then has the over-arching questions. The historical concepts are next. At the bottom are the ‘broken down’ questions for each year group, alongside key words.
