Just starting out with Newton’s second law of motion? Don’t want to scare your students off with the equations and calculations? Then this is the perfect product for you. Using this product from my Tes shop your students will gain a strong conceptual understanding of how to apply Newton’s second law to many different situations. This is an important step for students to master before moving on to quantitative analysis of the motion of objects.
Free body diagrams show the relative magnitude and direction of all the forces acting on an object. The number of forces shown on a free body diagram depends on the specific problem and the assumptions made; air resistance is commonly ignored to simplify the problem. If the forces acting on an object are balanced, then the object is not accelerating and is therefore either moving with a constant velocity or at rest. If the forces acting on an object are unbalanced, then the object is accelerating.
At the top of each set of exercises there is a link to videos from my Step by Step Science YouTube channel. The videos provide detailed descriptions and additional examples that correspond to the problems on the exercise sheets. This is a great resource for distance learners or students who are not able to be in class for this lesson. All exercises and presentations are provided in PDF and fully editable formats.
