A Powerpoint to walk students through the basics of low-resolution NMR spectroscopy. The examples can also be used to instruct students in high-resolution NMR, but the focus here is on chemical shift and integration traces, as well as keeping things as clear and simple as possible.
This was designed for use with the IB Chemistry course (SL) but can be used with any course. The chemical shift values are those found in the IB's chemistry data booklet.
The spectra are generated by the excellent predictor at nmrdb.org. Other images are from Wikimedia Commons.
