Normal Approximations

These are two useful sheets which show how to use the Normal distribution to approximate the Poisson and Binomial distributions. They show which parameters to use as the mean and variance, they also show how to manage the change from discrete to continuous. There is a worked example demonstrating how to use all of this to work out a probability. These would be useful as support sheets for students who need extra help with their homework, or you could use them as note sheets for students to annotate in class. Thank you for sharing.
