For teaching OCR A Level Rebellion and Disorder under the Tudors 1485-1603

This is lesson 3 of the depth study for the Western Rebellion 1549. This two hour lesson focuses on the impact of the Western Rebellion.

This lesson looks at;

  • Retrieval starter looking back over all Tudor rebellions with a fun ‘who am I’ quiz!
  • In depth study on the impact of the Western rebellion using a QUIZ filled with extra information! The quiz focusses on: How would you deal with the Western Rebellion? Students had loads of fun with this quiz especially look at all of the questionable choices the Duke of Somerset made!
  • Students will then decide how successfully did the government deal with the Western rebellion?
  • Next, students will summarise the effects of the Western rebellion on government and society (note; textbook pages have been typed up with additional information, and included in this lesson!)
  • Finally, students will decide ‘did the Western Rebellion seriously threaten the Tudor government?’

Includes exam-style question (30 marker with interpretations)
