The concept of “One Medicine” is an old one, but is often confused with One Health, which is different. but there are significant differences. Here at Humanimal Trust we are working towards a future that is One Medicine.

One Medicine is the idea that human and veterinary medicine are interdependent and should work together to advance the health of both humans and animals. The term was coined by Dr. Schwabe in his textbook “Veterinary Medicine and Human Health”.

In this resource you will learn about One Medicine and how it is important for the health of humans and animals going forward. That we should all gain equally from medical advances and what your students can do to make this happen.
