This is a power point that enables all students to draw in one point perspective. There are 9 slides in total holding numerous animations to enable a step by step procedure for your students to easily follow along with.

I use this in my lessons and have found this to be good for students with low self-esteem and basic skills as it shows them how to start the drawing. It was also good for the gifted and talented students as they are encouraged to creatively and independently explore details using perspective rules.

Why this product was designed:
To promote self-confidence at an early age in students own ability to draw 3D realistic imagery on a 2D surface.

Intended use for a lesson:
This product is meant to be used in a lesson that is based on architecture and/or architectural drawing where the teacher requires an outcome in one point perspective. I have started students drawing on A5 size paper (half of a regular printer size paper) so they can practise their skills. After learning one point perspective I’ll have my student go onto drawing two point perspective and finally from there I’ll have students draw on A4 (regular size computer printer paper) in the choice of one or two point perspective. This product is meant as a student follow along power point that teaches the students the rules in one point perspective.

Lesson 1 will teach students the basic rules of 1 point perspective while they copy line for line the first two buildings.
It then encourages students to use the rules they have just learnt to continue drawing the rest of their cityscape creatively in 1 point perspective.
Lesson 2 focuses on creatively adding details and structural elements into the students building on a step by step basis.
Lesson 3 focuses on shading the buildings. Here the lesson would benefit by starting with the drawing tonal starter work sheet in order to get the student thinking about tones.
