- Instructions:
- Introduce onomatopoeia ‘sound words’ by watching the video.
- Show the children the onomatopoeia words listed on page 1 of the 4-page activity booklet.
- Give some examples of onomatopoeia words you might hear in certain jobs - there are a number of jobs listed in the booklet (with examples and pictures).
- Ask the children to have a go at drawing the sound words listed in the activity booklet then ask them to add one more word (and drawing) of their own.
- Challenge Activity: You might want the class (or a group of children) to perform their own onomatopoeia poem/song in the style of the video. If you do, I’ve also attached a simple rhythm/beat your children to listen and perform their poem/song to (plus a sheet for them to publish their work onto).
